Trip to Compton Verney – Victoria’s Blog

On Friday, girls from the thirds visited Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park in Warwickshire. The trip provided an opportunity to discuss paintings and sculptures with experts and involved a variety of activities linked to the current exhibition. Here’s what Victoria from 3K got up to during the day:

On the 29th of September, we visited Compton Verney. When we first entered the art museum, we looked at Bridget Riley. She had used mirrors and LED lights to capture pop art. Later on, we used torches and acetate, covering the light with various colours of acetate and directed the light onto a mirror. We added other mirrors to the side to create other effective dimensions. Near the end of our trip at Compton Valley, we visited the Chinese bronze statues. We were all given the task of drawing one of the statues. I chose an ancient bell. The bronze bell had many features and a lot of detail. Victoria, 3K
